On December 21, 2022, the Billings Central Music Department performed its annual Christmas concert, known as the Cantata. This concert is unique to other concerts that the BCCHS Music Department stages, because the band, choir, and orchestra perform together. This year, the students performed an eight-piece Cantata called “The Glory of Christmas”.

This year, BCCHS music teacher Branden Martinez decided to have the music department perform the Cantata twice. The first performance occurred during the RAMS period for the Central student body to watch. The second performance was for parents, family, and friends to watch later that night.

Brandon Martinez said, “I thought it went really good. I thought the student preparation performance was very important, and we needed that. This is the most prepared we have ever been with our dress rehearsals and everything.”

Overall, the concert was very successful for the music students, and it was a great way for students, families, and friends to get ready to celebrate Christmas.
