Semester Finals: A Challenge
February 8, 2023
It was a stressful time for students during finals week at the end of the first semester. Finals usually mean more studying and work for most students. The week of testing was a new experience for ninth-grade students with different challenges to overcome. Seniors, on the other hand, have gone through finals for three years in a row and have a slightly different view on finals week.
9th-grade students, having their first semester, were stressed all week. Freshman Greyson Piseno said, “This [was] the hardest freaking week ever. I’m so happy its over!” Maybe all these freshman need is some advice from some professionals given that finals will be back at the end of the second semester this spring. Who would be more professional than a senior who has done this for three years?
Senior Caitlin MacIntyre claimed that finals generally get harder every year, though her senior year was an exception. MacIntyre has some good advice for new students facing finals. ”Honestly, just make sure you do your work through the semester. It gives you time to learn things rather than doing everything the night before the finals. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help.”
