With the start of the school year, Central’s diverse range of clubs are kicking off, offering students exciting opportunities to get involved. From HOSA, Student Council, and Environmental Club, to Native American Club, Art Club, Lumen Cristi, and Culture Kitchen, there’s a place for everyone. And with new juniors and seniors comes new leadership roles. Central will be able to experience new components of each club due to new leaders. Many of them have exciting and fun ideas that they plan to bring to the table during the 2024-2025 school year.
Senior, Anna Kim, became the president of Art Club this year. One of the primary goals she mentioned was bringing back some old ideas that she liked, while also getting input from new members for innovative ideas. She also mentioned sustaining some enjoyable, regular activities Art Club does annually. Anna Kim stated, “I want to do the regular ones, like painting pumpkins for teachers and the art murals.” Kim encourages anyone interested in Art Club should consider becoming a member. Anyone can find their place in Art Club even with little-to-no experience.
Like Art Club, every Central club offers great opportunities to get involved with the school and other students. Some clubs even do activities outside of the school system, like Environmental Club. Last year and years before, Environmental Club set off to help clean up some of the Rims. This was a great community service opportunity, and a chance to represent Central in an inspiring way. Junior, Alex Johnson, and senior, Anna Kim, are co-presidents of Environmental Club this year. They are excited to bring their new ideas to the table this school year. Some of these include, doing service at the Audubon Center and going on hikes, to really enjoy the beauty of the environment Central students are fortunate to live in.
Every Central club offers great opportunities to get involved and represent Central in inspiring ways. If there are any students contemplating whether to join a club, there is a variety of ways to have fun, be able to interact with others of similar interests, and most importantly, represent Central using their talents. And, as it is still early in the school year, now is a great time to join a club for any student.
