Homecoming week is one of the most exciting events of the school year, commencing with hall decorations on Sunday night. Students from all grades gather to hang decorations and enjoy pizza, setting the tone for the week. The hall themes this year were “Under the Sea” for freshman, “Green Out” for sophomores, “Lights” for juniors, and “Blackout” for seniors.
The dress-up days are always a highlight of the week. Monday was “Decades Day,” with each grade dressing from a different era. Tuesday brought the fan-favorite “Barbecue Dads vs. Soccer Moms.” Seniors Evan Miller and Brenda Twitchell agreed that this theme was “a fan favorite,” with most students decked out as barbecue dads, complete with aprons and grilling tools. Wednesday’s “Pattern Day” saw each grade dressed in patterns like cheetah, glitter, camo, and tie-dye. Thursday, “America Day,” was also well liked, especially among students like Bailee Rouche and Keira McMahon, who said it was their favorite. The week wrapped up with “Spirit Day” on Friday, with everyone sporting the school’s colors to show support for their teams.
Sports events were a major highlight of the week, too, with volleyball winning two home games in three sets. Girls’ soccer won 2-1 against Lone Peak and mercy-ruled East Helena 10-0, while boys’ soccer also won 2-0 against Lone Peak and 10-0 over East Helena. The anticipation built for the homecoming football game, where the Rams dominated, leading by halftime and ultimately winning 31-14. The halftime announcement of Homecoming King and Queen crowned Ava Yates and Sam Cooper.
The week concluded with the much-anticipated homecoming dance, which was a tremendous success and one of the students’ favorite events. Overall, Homecoming 2024 was a memorable week filled with school spirit, victories, and celebrations.
