The Billings Central Rams are your Class A Football State Champions! The Rams took down Laurel behind great performances from senior running back Jack DeBourg and junior quarterback Howie Martin.
The game started off a little shaky, as the first quarter ended with Central having only three points to Laurel’s seven, but Central bounced back in the second quarter, scoring two touchdowns, while only allowing Laurel one. In the second half, Central took the momentum \and never looked back, scoring two more touchdowns while only allowing Laurel one, ending the game with a final score of Central 31 to Laurel’s 21. The game ended in fantastic fashion, with the entire team abandoning the sideline and storming center-field—the same place that Laurel planted two flags during pregame announcements.
With this win, the Rams have brought home five state championships this 2024 fall sports season: girls golf, boys and girls soccer, volleyball, and now football.
