As fall sports wrap up and winter sports begin, it’s the perfect time to celebrate an incredible season of athletic success. This fall, our school made history with five teams clinching state championships—the most ever in a single season. Father John may still be recovering from the heartbreak of seeing his class’s record broken, as the Rams’ five state championships this season officially bumped them down in the history books. Among these champions was the Rams volleyball team, who delivered a season packed with determination, skill, and unforgettable moments.
The Rams entered the season with fire, losing only one game during the regular season. Their dominance was evident as they claimed titles at both the Eastern A Tipoff Tournament and Blocktober Fest, building momentum for the Divisional Tournament.
In Lewistown, the atmosphere was electric as the Rams tore through the competition. Undefeated heading into the championship match, they faced Hardin and dropped the third set—a rare stumble. However, the Rams showed resilience, taking the fourth set and securing the Divisional title.
Next up: the State Tournament in Bozeman, the ultimate test of their season. With tremendous support from parents and students, the Rams blazed through the bracket without dropping a single set on their way to the championship match. In a nail-biting five-set thriller, the Rams narrowly lost the first championship game 13-15. Undeterred, they rallied in the second match against Frenchtown. It was another five-set battle, but the Rams refused to back down, dominating the final set 15-3 to reclaim their state title.
The victory was especially meaningful for the team’s three seniors, who ended their high school volleyball careers on the highest note possible. After last year’s heartbreaking losses to Hardin, this season was a testament to their determination and teamwork.
This championship win wasn’t just a victory for the team but for the entire Rams community. It will be remembered as a shining example of perseverance, skill, and school spirit. Congratulations, Rams volleyball, on an unforgettable season!
