Central High’s “Pub” marks a milestone with a lifetime giveaway for a lucky customer.
The Pub, a beloved breakfast destination at Central High School, recently marked an amazing achievement; the sale of its 25,000th donut. On December 5th, the fortunate customer who bought that donut was Mrs. Prudhomme, a teacher who has made The Pub a part of her daily routine.
The Pub, managed by Mr. Osborn’s business class at Central, has been eagerly preparing for this moment for weeks. The students have decorated the space with bright balloons and colorful posters to attract their classmates and offer a tempting selection of delicious donuts.
When Mrs. Prudhomme placed the 25,000th order, the energy in the Pub was electric. The staff erupted in cheers as confetti fell and a shower of balloons floated down from the ceiling, celebrating the moment with a flashy display. It was an amazing way to recognize the students’ hard work and commitment in making every student’s morning just a little bit better.
When Mrs. Prudhomme walked into The Pub that morning, she had no idea she would be the one to mark the 25,000th sale. “I went in with a $5 bill and a $10 bill,” she recalled. “I wasn’t sure how close they were to selling the 25,000th donut, so I debated how much to spend. Mr. Fairbanks also came in ready to win, but being a gentleman, he let me order first. I really wanted to win, so I handed over the $10 bill and ordered 40 donuts.”
As soon as Mrs. Prudhomme made her purchase, the atmosphere in The Pub changed. “Next thing I know, the song “Celebrate” started playing, confetti fell from the ceiling, and then I was presented with the ‘free donuts for life’ check,” she said, still smiling. “It was such a fun moment.”
The entire Pub staff burst into cheers, celebrating not only the milestone but also the energy and excitement of the day. Mrs. Prudhomme’s reaction to winning the “donuts for life” prize was one of genuine excitement and heartfelt gratitude. “I really love the Pub’s donuts, so claiming my prize will be a great excuse to keep coming in the mornings,” she said. It’s clear that she appreciates not just the donuts, but the positive, welcoming atmosphere that The Pub provides every morning.
