With the new year comes a new semester in the school year. This entails new classes and new students, and this year, there will be also be a teacher with a new position here at Billings Central Catholic High School. Ms. Hanser is rejoining the faculty, taking the all-new position of Dean of Students. She will work with students directly, meeting them in her newly converted office, where the conference room once existed, throughout the school day. Hanser was formally introduced to the entire school in December before Christmas Break commenced, and is ready to take on several duties here at Central.
Ms. Hanser’s focuse lies mainly on the academic area of students’ high school careers. She checks grades and will meet with students individually who need help in different classes. Ms. Hanser stated, “I am in charge of the student academic piece. If kids are falling behind, I make sure that they have proper help, that parents are notified, and then [she’s also in charge of] following through with things like dress code and other disciplinary things.” Ms. Hanser will make sure students are performing well academically, so that they are successful during their time in high school. While she is available to whoever may need to consult with her, her priority is students who are struggling academically.

Ms. Hanser had a very warm welcome, and there had been talk about her for quite some time leading up to her arrival; both students and staff have been anticipating her entrance to the school. Ms. Hanser said, “Everyone’s really great. Students have been really welcoming, and the staff has been welcoming.” Ms. Hanser has been enjoying a warm welcome from all people here at Central, and she is very appreciative of the acknowledgment she has received. Ms. Hanser also stated, “I am ecstatic to be back. I love it here, I love the students here, I love the staff here, and I love what Central stands for, so I am just overjoyed to be back here.”
Hanser’s return has been surrounded by optimism, particularly among those who’ve met her in past interactions. “Ms. Hanser is a great person and will be a great help to the student body,” says junior Aramis Rivera, a student who evidently believes in Ms. Hanser. All those who’ve known Ms. Hanser are certainly thankful to have her back. Students will be glad to have a supportive character working here at Central, and Ms. Hanser will help these students during the school day.
Overall, Ms. Hanser will be a great addition to the school, and her position will be an asset to the entire Billings Central family.
