As the Billings Central Softball season swings into high gear, the Lady Rams are looking to build on their successes from the previous season. Last year, Central’s Softball team was the State runner-ups in Class A. And after a tough loss to Columbia Falls in the State Championship, the girls are back and ready to take State this year. This season, the Rams have a win-loss ration of 6-4, a record which includes big wins against Hardin and East Helena in the start of the season. They have also had to endure some rough battles with rivals including Laurel and Billings Senior. As they navigate their remaining schedule, the Lady Rams look to be hitting their stride.
On Senior Night, the team met the Hardin Bulldogs on our home field. The game ended just as quickly as it started. The Lady Rams got up 17-0 in an impressive two innings, due to a home run from senior, Madge Prill, and an inside-the-park home run from freshman, Emma Hernandez. Junior, Avery Nelson, also had a good night in the circle, pitching her first shutout of the season.

With a combination of dominant victories and hard-fought games, the Lady Rams are demonstrating the resilience needed to compete for a State Championship. With talent at every level, they also look prepared for future seasons. The Billings Central Softball team is hoping to peak at the right time, and they are hoping to keep their momentum going into the postseason.
