On September 6, the Laurel Locomotives faced off against the Billings Central Rams at Amend Park. The girls’ team played first at 10:00am and the boys’ team played second at 12:00pm. Working hard, both teams defeated Laurel.
The girls’ game was a hard-fought battle, with each team giving their all. After the first fifteen minutes, Laurel found an opportunity and took it—scoring the first goal of the game. However, Central kept their energy high and eventually sophomore, Emerson Dull, found the back of the net and put the score at 1:1.
The intensity was high, as both teams battled relentlessly. Both teams were determined to score and take the lead. Laurel ended up pushing past Central’s defense, finding the back of the net and pulling ahead of Central yet again. For the rest of the half, Central tried to score, but Laurel stepped

up their defense to prevent that. With five minutes left in the half, senior Amaya Lorash found the back of the n
et, tying the score once again.
Going into the second half, both teams were looking for that goal to put them ahead and potentially win the game. Halfway through the second half, junior, Lizzie Rah, scored the game winning goal. Laurel tried to tie up the score but fell short. Central beat Laurel 3:2.
The boys’ game started at 2:00 at Amend Park. Both teams came out with intensity, but Central senior Bowman Seitz scored first, giving Central a 1:0 lead. It was back and forth until freshman Callum Weisen followed up Seitz’s goal with one of his own, making the score 2:0 at half.
When the whistle blew signaling the start of the second half, Central came out strong with Weisen finding the back of the net for his second goal of the game, putting the Rams up by three.
Central was keeping up the intensity, and junior Sawyer Guenthner expanded their lead to 4 with a goal of his own.
Keeping up their offense with a little more of the half left, Weisen found his third goal of the game, putting the score at 5:0. Their offense still going strong, Weisen found his fourth and final goal of the game. The Central boys ended up beating Laurel, 6:0.
