This year, there has been many new security updates at Billings Central. For the past few weeks, people have been adding an assortment of new cameras and detectors throughout the building, hoping to help Central be a more organized, safe, and better community overall.
Mostly organized by our principal, Mr. Nolan Trafton, many of these new additions are in progress. Plenty of other teachers and workers have also been helping to design this new system for a while.
Given a federal grant to install these additions, Trafton said, “Not only have there been updates on cameras, but there will now be card readers at entrances, new doors are being installed, and some enhanced evacuation safety features will be added.”
This school system is an amazing community to be apart of and Trafton wants to maintain the quality of it. He stated, “Unfortunately, school safety has become a topic of conversation a lot, so we are always thinking about school safety and ways to improve. Our security cameras are probably almost twenty years old, so we definitely thought it was time to update that.”
Safety and comfort have always been top priorities for Billings Central. These new security updates demonstrate BC faculty’s commitment to safety. All of the additions that have already been made and those in progress hope to help Billings Central to uphold the values of faith, family, spirit, and academic excellence.
