No time during the school year has more school spirit than during BCCHS’s Homecoming Week. The week includes decorating the halls, fun dress-up days, attending the football game, and going to the dance. All of these activities were organized and planned by the Billings Central faculty, student council, and student body.
Even before the week had begun, the students were already full of school spirit. On Sunday, September 15th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, there was the decorating of the halls. Each hall is separated by grade, and each class decorated their own hall with their assigned colors. There was white for freshmen, green for sophomores, gold/silver for juniors, and black for seniors. While an all black hall is tradition for seniors, other grades similarly decorating by a color was a new change.

Homecoming week also included a multitude of different dress-up days. Because Monday was a picture day, the theme was Wig/Hat day to be easy to remove. Tuesday was Pajamas, Wednesday was Country vs. Country Club, Thursday was Anything But a Backpack, and Friday was SPIRIT. “I really enjoyed Anything But a Backpack and Wig/Hat day, but all the other days were also super fun,” said freshman Emmet Gilfeather.
Lastly, the highlight of BCCHS’s Homecoming Week, the pep rally, football game, and the homecoming dance all took place on Friday. The pep rally was extremely successful, and viewers could feel the excitement of all the students. Similarly, during the football game later that evening, the amount of enthusiasm and passion from the student section was impressive. All the students had their chants memorized, and they shouted with pride.
In all, this year’s BCCHS Homecoming Week was nothing if not impressive, and the spirit of the students combined with the hard work from the teachers was incredible.
