This Advent offers a new challenge from Father John Pankratz. He has created the Advent Chapel Mass Challenge, which will take place throughout the season of Advent. The challenge is to go to your parish’s mass every Sunday and to morning chapel mass at school every day that it is offered.
Father John created this challenge to encourage kids to go to mass, especially during Advent. This is important because Advent is preparing for Jesus Christ’s birth. Father John said, “It is about trying to encourage students to go to mass and since I am saying mass here pretty much everyday, I can offer and encourage that.” This challenge goes from the start of Advent, November 30th, to Thursday, December 18th. He offers chapel mass at 7:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. There is a sign-in sheet where students confirm they have gone to chapel mass. Sunday mass attendance will use the honor system. Students who participate in this challenge and go to every mass have the opportunity to a catered lunch or dinner with Father John.

Father John also mentioned, “Based on how this one goes, we will try to have a Lent Chapel Mass Challenge.” There are many great things being implemented at BCCHS this Advent, and this challenge is a wonderful way to improve your relationship with God and prepare for this Christmas season.
