With next year approaching, there are new courses to look forward to. As of right now, there are six new electives being added to the 2026-2027 class offerings.
One of these new electives includes Philosophy which will be taught by Fr. Pankratz. Mrs. Adams will teach Paper and Fiber Arts and will also oversee a Leadership Art class. Another new class, which was voted for by students, is WWII through Film which will by taught by Mr. Fritz. Similarly, Street Law got the second most votes and will be taught by Mr. Ryan. There is also a new Zoology course, but due to staff changes, a teacher has yet to be determined.
A couple of math courses have been reconfigured and given a new name. These are Consumer Math and Contemporary and Technical Math which will be replacing Intermediate Algebra and College Prep respectively.
Nolan Trafton noted, “Electives remind us that learning is fun.” Classes chosen by students such as Street Law and WWII through Film are meant to allow students to learn in a fun and engaging way. However, most of the electives are only available to upcoming juniors and seniors because of scheduling. Still, some sophomores may also be able to partake in a few of these new classes. These new electives are great opportunities to try something new next school year.
