The Central swim team recently competed in a meet on January 9. This meet took place in Haver, Montana. The Central swim team competed against Haver, Hardin, East Helena, Whitefish, and Polson. It was a very successful meet with both the boys and girls winning. Many swimmers performed very well individually and several athletes gained new personal records. This meet helped them show all the hard work they have put into practicing.

Centrals swim team has subjectively large team with around 50 swimmers. During the meet, many different swimmers stood out. On the girls team, the ones that stood out were Joanne Ragsdale (12th grade), Sarah Spini (12th grade), Allison Teerink (11th grade), and Lauren Kimmitt (9th grade). On the boys team, the strong swimmers were Jonas Johnson (11th grade), Greyson Piseno (12th grade), and McKade Viara (9th grade). These were the swimmers with the most wins and PR’s at this meet.
The swim team’s success is not surprising due to the consistent practice times. The Central swim team practices 5 days a week after school. In addition, there is morning practices twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All of this hard work helps prepare the swimmers for meets and encourages them to be successful.
