Baseball season at Billings Central has officially begun, and the Rams have started hot with dominant wins over Shepherd and Billings West High School. They scored 29 runs in those two games while only allowing seven from the other team, averaging eleven hits per game.

Against Shepherd, sophomore Braden West earned the win on the mound, allowing zero hits and striking out four. Junior catcher Matteo Harris was 2-for-2 hitting with an RBI, and Saint Mary’s College commit junior Oliver Prill was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. The game was over in 3 innings, as the Rams got up 16-0, invoking the Mercy Rule.
Against Billings West, Prill went off yet again, going 4-for-4 on at-bats, including an inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning to go with three stolen bases. The Rams scored five runs in the second inning and rode the momentum to a 13-7 win. Junior Zach McDonald earned the win, pitching two innings and only allowing a single run.
Senior Ollin Kulaga earned the start, and juniors Drew Heigis and Matteo Harris also made appearances on the mound. Notre Dame commit and pitcher junior Paxton Prill played at first base against the Golden Bears and accounted for one of the Rams’ thirteen runs.
Next, Rams Baseball played against the Columbus Cougars on April 1st, the Huntley Project Red Devils on the 2nd, and the Lockwood Lions on the 7th. Good luck to the Rams this season!
