Tennis has finally started–but with a few bumps in the road. This year, tennis does not have their first meet until after Easter. In fact, divisionals and state are not within the seniors’ school year. Divisionals are the weekend of graduation and tennis state is the weekend after.

Girls’ coach Danielle Lee is unsure of how the schedule turned out that way. However, she is still determined to make the most of this season. Lee mentioned, “Personally, I do not think it will change much, but it does feel very different this year.” Lee also said that she hopes the seniors will do their best. “It is important for the seniors to keep their focus on the court at divisionals and state, even through the chaos of graduation.” Lee is determined to have a good season despite the non-accommodating schedule.
Mike Ryan, BCCHS’s athletic director, said, “MHSA puts out a calendar. The Montana High School Association determines when those events are going to be held and it’s just the way the calendar fell this year.”
Although the season has a delayed start and will conclude later than normal, both the tennis players and the coaches are determined to make this a great season filled with improvement and hopefully some victories.
